Who we are
Shannon English Academy, 14 Thomas Street, Limerick V94 E2K7, is responsible for the personal data described on this page: we are its data controller. For any question about your data, write to us at roryquinn1007@maildrop.cc.
Shannon English Academy is run by Rory Quinn as a sole trader.
What we collect
When you send us a message through this website, we receive the details you type into the form (for example your name, your email address and your message).
When you create a student account or enrol on a course, we keep your name, your email address, the course and class you join, your work, answers, marks and attendance, and a record of your payments.
Why we use it
We use this data to answer your enquiries, to provide the courses you enrol on, to take payment, to follow your progress and to send you messages about your course. We do this to carry out our agreement with you, to meet our legal obligations (for example keeping payment records), and with your consent for anything optional.
Who processes it for us
This website and our student portal run on SprintUp Education, an online platform for schools. SprintUp Education stores and processes personal data on our behalf, as our processor, and only on our instructions. Its own privacy policy is at https://sprintup.education/privacy.
Card payments are handled by Stripe, a payment provider. Your card details go to Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
How long we keep it
We keep your student account and course records while you study with us and for as long as we need them afterwards to answer questions about your course. We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and enquiries for as long as we need to answer them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, and object to how we use it. Write to roryquinn1007@maildrop.cc. We answer within one month, and tell you if we need longer. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Children
If you enrol a child, you do so as their parent or guardian, and you can use their rights on their behalf by writing to roryquinn1007@maildrop.cc.
Cookies
This website and the student portal use only the cookies and browser storage they need to work: to keep you signed in and to remember simple settings. They use no advertising or analytics cookies.
Changes to this page
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page.
